Thin, lightweight, supple texture light panel that can be cut to virtually any shape. Use for car wraps, back-lights, POS display, architectural accents, Tron costumes etc This is the new version of our cuttable panel. Tabs have already been connected to the panel You will need to connect your EL inverter to the panel but this is fairly simple. Your choice of inverter depends on the surface area being powered.
Tutorial - how to cut and connect EL panels
Thin, lightweight, supple texture electroluminescent light panel that can be cut to virtually any shape as long as you include at least one of the silver tabs. Illuminated area (once powered) looks pink when it is not powered and this measures approx. 401 x 301mm.
Use for car wraps, back-lights, POS display, architectural accents, Tron costumes, backlight display panels and photographs, create illuminated badges, make emergency signage, back light LCD panels etc.
Tabs (20) have already been connected to the panel but you will need to connect the power (via EL inverter) to the tabs by sticking the 'output' wires from your inverter to the panel. To stick them on, use electroconductive glue, or 'low melt point' soldering or even some crocodile clips. Please ask us for instructions to connect power to your electroluminescent back light panel.
Please be aware that once this panel is powered, all the tabs will emit a small electrical charge so they will need to be trimmed and sealed off with clear tape BEFORE YOU CONNECT THE POWER.
We have a PDF instructions available.
Your choice of EL panel inverter depends on the surface area being powered. You might be planning to cut your panel into multiple pieces and power each one from a single inverter or cut them up, position them away from each other but have them powered from the same inverter. Both options are possible but you will need to roughly calculate the surface are of each electroluminescent shape you cut and let us know by email so that we can guide you on the selection of inverters.
