This EL wire inverter plugs into mains and is rated for outdoors. The in-built photo sensor means that you do not have to remember to turn it on...as soon as the sensor detects that the sun has gone down it will power up. Of course, you don't have to make use of this function. If you want your EL wire turned on indoors you can cover the sensor with a small piece of black tape and this will de-activate it. . You can plug in from 1 or up to 3 different segments of EL wire up to a maximum of 30m. The multiple modes means you can toggle through to the setting you prefer. You could have each wire lit up in a sequence or select continuous or fade in/fade out or all flashing at the same time.
